StickStar: Love of Gear
StickStar has always been about three things: belief in the Texas lacrosse player, development, and gear. This one is about the gear, and for us it started with a hat.
1997: The Coppell Lacrosse Hat
In 1997, lacrosse at Coppell was small. There wasn't a pro shop on every corner or a team store with twenty items to choose from. A hat was one of the few things you could actually buy.
So we bought it, and we wore it everywhere.
When your sport is that small, a hat isn't just a hat. It's a billboard. Every time you wore it to school, to the store or to a friend's house, you were telling people that lacrosse was here, and that it was ours. That white Coppell Lacrosse hat, with the crossed sticks and the red C, was a big deal.
Look at it now. The brim is stained, the white isn't so white anymore, and the shape is all ours. That's not damage. That's proof.
A Love for Great Hats
Our love of hats didn't stop at Coppell. We've always loved the Fighting Irish, and this "IRISH Notre Dame Lacrosse" hat got the same treatment: worn, washed, broken in and worn again.

Great Hats Get Worn Out
Here's what we've learned after all these years: great hats are the ones you wear out completely.
A great hat fits right on day one and gets better from there. It holds its shape where it should and softens where it should. The embroidery stays sharp while everything around it breaks in. It becomes your hat.
That's why StickStar has always loved hats. It started with the custom New Era StickStar hats we made years ago (that's a story for another post), and it's why we still obsess over every profile, every color and every stitch today.
